Track: Architecture, Engineering, and Construction
Author(s): Steven Santovasi

Improve the speed and accuracy of Parcel Management incorporating advancements in technology. A look at building and managing a modern practical Parcel geodatabase utilizing ArcGIS 9.3 editing and topology tools, Web Based Assessor data, Map Scanning technology, High Accuracy GPS and survey technology, High Resolution Aerial Orthophography, and resulting ArcGIS Server applications. The advancements of these technologies have improved the speed and accuracy of the 'manual labor' associated with building a rock solid foundation for a Municipal GIS system. The base fabric of most Municipal GIS Systems is the Parcel Geodatabase, revisions to the data are crucial to the success of the GIS as a decision support system. Updates to the data are available realtime in the associated ArcGIS Server applications. This is a look at how to bring it all together.
