AbstractRisk Management in Road Transportation SystemTrack: Transportation Author With increasing climate effect and an increasing use of road transports it is important to be aware of the risks associated with the road transport system and the consequences of incidents. Vulnerable road segments are identified by using GIS based models. The modeling results are providing valuable input to field studies which results in a risk classification on a very detailed level. The outcome is classified road segments and recommended diversion roads. The tools for performing the modeling, field study, storing the result and present it on a map is Esri and Microsoft based. This paper illustrates step by step the path from modeling to a final presentation and explains the thoughts behind risk management and the techniques being used.
