Abstract

Real Estate and Logistics Map
Track: Disaster Management and Emergency Response
Authors: Theresa Myers

To support the US Army Corps of Engineers' emergency management mission, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mobile District Office's Spatial Data Branch is developing the Real Estate and Logistics Map program (REALM) for the USACE's Logistical Management Office in the Mobile District. Using National Response Planning pre-position planning scenarios, data, and pre-negotiated site use agreements, the application will allow for deploying personnel and supplies with the click of a button. Phase one of the program, using Esri's ArcGIS Server .NET Web ADF, allows users to mobilize sites, personnel, and supplies by combining dropdown selections with a buffer tool. In phase two, using ArcGIS API for Microsoft Silverlight, users will select an emergency type, event and scale. The combined selections will then automatically generate search results based on all National Response Planning pre-position planning scenarios in the database, and the user can activate pre-negotiated site and supply agreements via broadcast email and automated phone notification.
