AbstractUnder Budget: Two Vendors to Achieve One GoalTrack: GIS Organization, Management, and Implementation Author In 2008, NKAPC began a process to update the existing LinkGIS partnership website from ArcIMS to ArcGIS Server. After procuring bids, it was obvious that all bids exceeded NKAPC's budget when evaluated separately. To get the best website for the lowest price, it was going to be necessary to assign tasks. By leveraging the modular aspects of ArcGIS Server, NKAPC was able to pick the components that two vendors had previously developed and create two contracts with these two vendors that accomplished all the website goals for the LinkGIS partnership while keeping costs under budget. Along the way NKAPC learned many important lessons about managing two separate contracts with two timelines and sets of dependencies to achieve one revamped website.
