Revaluing Property in St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Track: State and Local Government
Authors: Chris Ewing

The Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) require accurate valuations of all properties (residential and commercial) in order to implement a fairer property tax system. Brown and Co LLP and Halcrow Group Limited have been tasked with this project.

Coordinating a team of 20 field staff to estimate the value of over 40,000 properties over a 2 year period has been made easier with the use of ArcGIS ArcPad, Desktop and Server.

ArcGIS Desktop provides maps of data and progress of field teams which help to plan where to move field teams. Field data can be collected more quickly and efficiently using ArcPad, preventing the need for costly digitisation of records back in the office.

This presentation will show how the Esri ArcGIS software suite has been used extensively to enable a more efficient workflow, allowing data to be collected more quickly with less chance for error.
