Abstract

Transit Noise Modeling Using ArcGIS
Track: Transportation
Authors: Scott Seeburger, David Gilbert, Ahmed El-Aassar

Transit innovations and expansions are a central part of initiatives to construct more livable communities and are part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. One way to build community acceptance is to accurately compare transit options. ArcGIS modeling is used to explain how community groups and decision makers in Florida can measure, compare and contrast a dozen transit modes, from light rail guideway transit to commuter railways.
