Modeling of Fish Community by GIS in River
Track: Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management

Data collected from 13 stations in the Zarrin-Gol river basin, Golestan, during 2007 the fall months, to characterize fish communities and their relation to environmental factors. In this study, GIS analysis used for the variables. Land use in the basin river was determined from a classification of land cover derived from spectral information collected in 2002 of natural science department of Gorgan. Catchment characteristics were determined for all land in the basin, and characteristics for near-stream area were determined by applying a cartographic buffering operation in a GIS. Cartographic buffer regions were defined by identifying area within 30, 90 and 270 meters of the nearest stream. In this study, seven spatial base data layer were developed for the entire Zarrin-Gol watershed: catchment boundaries, hydrographic, slope, elevation, land cover(divided with two section:forest cover and other)distance of village and road. Also, among environmental parameters only altitude was affected significantly.
