GIS Education and Training in the Army National Guard

Sustaining an envisioned GeoGuard capability for domestic operations will required focused attention to ensuring a robust education and training program is available to the very mobile National Guard community, whether they be uniformed or civil service members. This presentation will present an overview of the formal GIS education and training offered through the Army National Guard's Professional Education Complex at Camp Robinson Arkansas. Topics to be addressed include a background/description of the PEC, Camp Robinson, facilities and GIS course curriculum to include certified training at the PEC in Esri, Trimble, and geospatial tools, course registration and costs, eligibility criteria to attend PEC courses, and finally future directions for the GIS training curriculum.
