Authors: Kenny Floyd, Larry Newman

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services responsible for conducting and supporting medical research. The Division of Environmental Protection (DEP) within the Office of Resource Facilities at NIH, headed by Mr. Kenny Floyd, is responsible for insuring compliance with the many federal executive orders and statutes that attempt to protect our environment.
Mr. Floyd has been utilizing Esri's technology to inventory and manage the NIH Bethesda campus, both outdoor and indoor infrastructure. Recently he has begun to utilize Esri's technology to manage compliance with indoor environmental regulations including asbestos abatement, lead mitigation, energy use monitoring and reduction, water use monitoring and reduction, indoor environmental indicators including temperature, humidity and C02 levels, in addition to space management, inventory, and work order management. This presentation will demonstrate how Esri's enterprise server technology is used for facilities management through a web-based system.
