Abstract
Getting Ready for Parcel Editor
Track: Cadastral and Land Records
Authors: Tim Boncoskey, Kacie Vanasse
The Assessor's Office, after 10+ years of parcel maintenance and editing in a CAD environment, is migrating to a parcel fabric for all editing and maintenance. The long range benefits from this migration far out-weigh continuation in the CAD environment by allowing a robust interaction (now missing) with our CAMA systems, modeling, and appraisal functions. It is planned to integrate GIS for more efficient and greater analysis of properties to ensure fair, equitable valuations to meet our yearly obligations for over 1.5 million parcels, 135,000 personal property accounts, and 13,000 agriculture accounts. Our presentation will focus on strategic goals of the project, the database migration process, work flow manager development and application, and lesson learned.
