Future of conservation will depend on how best we plan areas where humans and wildlife can co-exist, e.g. landscapes adjoining protected areas. This project applies the Geodesign framework in Kodagu district in South India which is part of Western Ghats; a global biodiversity hotspot and also a human dominated agrarian landscape. It is surrounded by protected areas and forests that supports a sizable elephant population that frequents into the coffee estates resulting in elephant human conflict
