This figure displays a vertical West-East cut of the Bay of Biscay at latitude 45 degrees 30 North  : bathysounder measurements are shown in green and the salinity and temperature curves are shown in orange and red. Temperature has been interpolated to produce a continuous grid with a vertical pixel size of 5 meters.
