PDHs Tailored to Needs of Surveyors Via Online Methods

Most states now require evidence of having attained a level of PDH credits as a pre-requisite to licensure. Most of the time, these PDHs are obtained at conferences. While this continues to be a viable method, it doesn't always allow a land surveyor registrant to strengthen skills and abilities in needed areas, as the program at conferences may not always have the content the surveyor desires. One option is to get those additional PDHs by going to specific conferences around the country or even around the world. Sometimes, this need for continued learning doesn't even relate to PDHs, but simply the desire to improve oneself. These needs are often met by getting the content online. In addition to this flexibility with respect to content, online education can save money on travel. It can also help an individual be more productive at the office by removing the need to be absent due to a particular offsite conference. Online PDH courses also allow for more efficient use of the registrant's time by allowing the learning to occur at practically any time and place where Internet connectivity is found. This paper outlines the developments at a new business which is attempting to allow surveyors to learn better, more often and with reduced expense and a reduced carbon footprint.
