Determining Routing Improvements Resulting from HERE Map Updates

GIS maps lose freshness as the underlying roads and their attributes change. In addition to changes, map freshness is also enhanced as road attribution is added or updated to improve the accuracy and utility of the map. Updated maps can result in improved routing ability.
Determining the advantages and disadvantages when moving to a fresher HERE map can depend on the presence of changes in the lengths of route segments between two maps for the same area.
