Abstract
Navajo Housing Authority’s Flood Hazard Mitigation Program
Track: Plan
Authors: David Turk, Nadine Clah
The Navajo Nation is the largest land-based and federally recognized tribe in the United States. Prior to this project, the Navajo Nation had not conducted any large-scale flood hazard studies. Flood damage has impacted the Navajo Nation and continues to threaten its many lives and properties. Through relationship building processes and creative project planning, NHA and URS initiated this project to finally provide flood hazard identification and mitigation planning and resources.
