Applications can interact with the geodatabase through SQL. Writing efficiently in SQL with spatial attributes requires an understanding of the data type's architecture and operators. This session will introduce the audience to the st_geometry model for Oracle and the Geometry and Geography data types for SQL Server along with their associated spatial index and relational and geometry operators. It will also focus on proper SQL syntax to ensure optimal execution and utilization of the spatial index and will highlight methods for querying the schema of your geodatabase through SQL.
