Esri summer camps in Germany, Ruanda and Switzerland

Since 2006, Esri Germany has organized nature and technology themed Esri Sommercamps (summer camps) for secondary school students held in national parks in Germany, Switzerland, and Rwanda. These camps form part of the charity program “Esri Handelt” (Esri Acts) which operates on donated employee overtime.
The first Sommercamp in Switzerland was organized in 2009 in The Swiss National Park in Zernez in an alpine region with striking scenery and a long history of environmental research. The week-long camp offered an excellent opportunity for students to learn about GIS and environmental science while carrying out projects directly connected to the research program of the National Park.
The quality of the presentations and posters produced by the Sommercamp participants was impressive. This presentation will review an exciting, intense, but also entertaining and informative week with posters, pictures and even a video!
