AbstractGeospatial Intelligence Standards: Facilitating Governance in Higher Education Track: Teaching with GIS in Higher Education Author Eastern Michigan University College of Technology (COT) has taken a proactive vision in structuring an interdisciplinary curriculum to equip students in specific areas of technology. Two distinct schools under the COT umbrella are the Center for Regional and National Security and the Institute for Geospatial Research and Education. The capability to provide students with knowledge to secure the nation intelligence system and net-centricity utilizing the framework set forth by the National Center for Geospatial Intelligence Standards serve to strategize a common goal for interoperability within government and private sector. Researchers, government and the private sector can benefit from the efforts of universities too streamline this knowledge to students. Agendas set forth from the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and carried out in universities can equip our nation with individuals prepared to answer the call of former President Bush efforts to secure our nation following 9/11 with this knowledge platform within NCGIS.
