Track: Teaching with GIS in Higher Education
Authors: Michael Page, Randy Gue

Historical Atlases have long proved invaluable to scholars examining urban history. By leveraging GIS to link spatial features with archive & library collections the historical atlas can be transformed into a tool for digital humanities, social science, and public Health. This presentation shares the concept, methods, intended outcomes, and challenges of a current project at Emory University Libraries in (re)mapping early 20th century Atlanta.
