Track: Teaching with GIS in Higher Education
Authors: David Smith, Catherine Walker, Diana Sinton

On many college campuses, providing students access to GIS data and maps can be challenging. With access to applications such as ArcMap and ArcGIS Explorer Desktop, as well ArcGIS Explorer Online, students and faculty are becoming increasingly interested in taking advantage of the data sharing capabilities that ArcGIS Online offers.
At the University of Redlands, a series of use cases has been developed to highlight the options faculty and students have in accessing GIS data and maps through both desktop and online applications. Central to these use cases has been the employment of ArcGIS Online as both a data repository and as a data sharing tool. This presentation will also show how ArcGIS Server map services can be integrated.
In this session, a series of use cases from a wide range of disciplines, including environmental sciences, religion and race and ethnic studies, will be presented and discussed.
