Teaching Methodology for Mapping Risk Areas for Engineering Students

The growing environmental adversities occurring in urban areas, raised the need for the provision of methods for analysis and simulation of risk scenarios aimed at ensuring the safety of communities. From north to south Brazil, environmental disasters are becoming more frequent and increasingly claiming lives. Fluid nature of the disaster, disasters source geotechnical, lack or insufficiency of engineering technical analyzes demonstrate the need for the provision of teaching of new technologies to the analysis and perception of risk to future engineers in order to mitigate the damage humans.Through the teaching of perception and analysis of the risks that directly or indirectly affect communities, Colleges Doctum, in a pioneering way, in the early periods of the courses of Engineering, educates its students through the development of studies in ArcGis classroom and subsequent field evaluation so that students can understand the importance of using the ArcGIS platform in studies of environmental disasters.
