Track: User Presentations - Administration
Authors: Laura Nixon
The National Center for Education Statistics has teamed with the US Census Bureau to develop a custom tabulation of American Community Survey (ACS) data for a set of school attendance areas in the continued effort to collect, analyze, and disseminate information about the condition of education in America. The ACS is a large household survey conducted by the US Census Bureau to provide annually updated estimates of demographic, social, economic, and housing characteristics for areas throughout the United States. The tabulation offers normalized ACS estimates for geographic comparisons and visualization for over 22,000 geographically-defined school attendance areas in large school districts. This presentation will briefly discuss the set of school attendance areas, the data content items, and visualization of the data on the NCES website.
