The GIS Program at Penta Career Center has a vibrant Advisory Committee that has been instrumental in providing real-world projects for my Juniors and Seniors to work on. Some of the organizations that my students have done work for and with are The Ohio Department of Transportation, Wood County Job and Family Services, The City of Waterville, OH, The Village of Whitehouse, OH, The Toledo Metro Area Council of Governments, Adult Basic Literacy Education, Central Joint Fire District, Northwest Ohio Water and Sewer, Lucas County Auditor's Office, The Toledo Zoo, Northwest Ohio Flood Mitigation Project and Bittersweet Farms. The students get valuable experience working with GIS professionals and have interesting projects to present at conferences, like the Ohio GIS Conference they attended last fall and the AmericaView Remote Sensing Conference attended in the fall of 2011.
