Abstract
Spatial Literacy Skill Across Disciplines in College Education
Track: User Presentations - Learning and Research
Authors: Nicole Kong, Benjamin Branch
Spatial thinking has been expanded in a wide range of research areas, which creates challenges in college GIS education. To meet the expectations of spatial literacy skill in different disciplines, we have interviewed faculty and graduate students from six different colleges with questions about skills in learning, acquiring external data, data processing and analysis, and visualization/representation. The results have provided us guidelines for workshop and course design across disciplines.
