The Shape of DC is a project undertaken by Joint Educational Facilities (JEF) to introduce high school students to the basics of geography and applying their technology skills through the use of the ArcGIS suite to create map-data mashups that show changes to the nation's capital since its founding. Students will produce two series of maps: one set focusing on the neighborhoods east of the Anacostia River, and the other set showing the city at-large at different time periods spanning 200 years.
