Abstract
Mapping Geographic Literacy in Texas
Track: User Presentations - Administration and Policy
Authors: Jeffrey Lash
In 2012 and 2013, the state of Texas administered a World Geography End-of-Course exam to over 600,000 high school students. In this presentation I discuss acquiring and formatting student performance data, mapping the data at campus, district, and regional scales using ArcGIS 10.2, and sharing the results using ArcGIS Server 10.2 and ArcGIS Online. The presentation concludes with remarks on how teachers, administrators, and politicians reacted to the maps.
