Abstract
Are your Graduates Prepared for Work as Geospatial Technicians?
Track: Lightning Talk - Learning and Research
Authors: John Johnson
Preparing students to enter the geospatial workforce requires a clear understanding of what they will be required to do “on-the-job”. Educators are at a disadvantage because they often lack recent workforce experience and fail to track their student’s success or failure finding work. The National GeoTech Center documents this workforce information using panels of actual workers from across the US. Recent findings indicate that todays’ entry-level geospatial workers are doing things differently.
