In some developed countries, the integration of GIS at the secondary and high schools has been successful and is in the process of further development. In poor countries, not only has the term GIS never been heard in some schools but its integration and teaching remains a problem due to a number of factors. The objective of this paper is to review some of the challenges facing the introduction and teaching of GIS in secondary and high schools in most African countries.
