Protecting Marine Life through Trash Mapping

Leading change in one's community can come at any age. Youth in the small Pacific coastal community of Bahia Ballena Costa Rica are learning to use ArcGIS Online while tacking a global issue, litter. With the Pacific Ocean less than 2 km downhill, youth working alongside adults are using GPS and GIS to investigate the impacts of trash in their community and taking steps to prevent trash from entering the streets.
