Is Service Learning Right for You? A Look at Its Benefits & Challenges

Based on our findings from focus groups and interviews, this presentation will provide an overview of service learning and share alternative formats in which service learning has been implemented. The benefits and implementation challenges from the perspectives of students, educators, and community agencies will be discussed. We hope to enable educators to evaluate if service learning is feasible for them by helping them anticipate challenges that may be relevant to their institutional contexts.
