Abstract
Grad Students Leading Undergrad Teams in Intro GIS Course Projects
Track: Learning and Research Lightning Talk
Authors: Forrest Bowlick
We discuss case study results of an introductory course where undergraduate and graduate students completed project-based group research, producing a presentation and publication-style paper. Students felt the projects served as a better representation of ‘real world’ applications and interactions with GIS, (especially compared to lab exercises) and appreciated interactions with peers of varying skill levels and experiences, broadening their capabilities to work with other GIS users.
