Foundational Principles for GIS Service-Learning Pedagogy

Due to its applied nature and wide application potential, GIS coursework is well positioned to adopt the service-learning pedagogy. This presentation will review some foundational principles for that pedagogy, specifically in the context of teaching, learning and using GIS. Examples from an introductory cartography course will illustrate some of the key points.
