Students at three community colleges in Virginia participated in two service learning projects at NASA Langley. Students majoring in GIS and Forestry teamed together to collect and analyze data with ArcPAD and ArcGIS. Students developed maps displaying attributes of the urban forest. Traditional and non-traditional students developed geospatial skills and leadership abilities in this faculty-mentored service learning project funded by GeoTEd (Expanding Geospatial Technician Education).
