Abstract
Opportunities in the Expanding Geospatial Job Market
Track: Learning and Research Lightning Talk
Authors: John Johnson
A growing number of U.S. jobs now require applicants to have mapping and related geospatial skills. This is creating new opportunities for established Geospatial Education Programs which can now serve students from these various new industries in addition to their traditional students seeking work as GIS or Remote Sensing Technicians. They will however need to modify their marketing strategy, develop custom classes and training programs and alter Advisory Councils and internship placements.
