Abstract
Teaching CyberGIS
Track: Learning and Research Lightning Talk
Authors: Karen Kemp
In 2014 NSF’s CyberGIS Project selected 17 US researchers to become CyberGIS Fellows. CyberGIS (GIS based on advanced cyberinfrastructure) has emerged as a vibrant interdisciplinary field impacting a broad swath of scientific domains. Due to the field’s rapid evolution, there are few education materials to help systematically teach concepts and principles underlying CyberGIS. The cyberGIS Fellows are addressing this gap. The products of the first year’s effort will be discussed in this session.
