San Bernardino City USD is the 8th largest school district in California and faces significant challenges in educating students including absenteeism. Using a GIS to better understand absenteeism is a new direction for the district. The presentation will review the district analysis of chronic absenteeism and report on how this information is being used: includes hot spot analysis to identify high risk neighborhoods & grouping methods used to characterize differences in absenteeism
