New Mexico State University nursing students collaborated with the Sustainability Office and Senior Programs in Las Cruces, New Mexico to create a story map about extreme heat. Seniors and the homeless were surveyed to determine how they addressed heat. Their knowledge about health effects of heat were evaluated. Social determinants of health due to heat were analyzed. Emergency cooling/heating shelters were mapped and uploaded to the Health Department's New Mexico Community Data Collaborative.
