A Framework for Using Web Mapping for Student Engagement and Assessment

This presentation will provide a framework for utilizing web mapping for enhancing curriculum at all levels from K12 to post-secondary. This framework has emerged from the development and evaluation of over 100 web mapping applications used in post-secondary textbooks in Geography and Environmental Science to assist instructors with improving student engagement. Using this experience, the framework provides guidance for building effective yet simple mapping applications and assessment tools.
