Bridging the Divide between GIS Educators and GIS Professionals

GRACE is designed to provide paid internships to high school students working with GIS Professionals. This requires that Educators work closely with GIS Pros. We discovered that educators experienced anxiety about approaching GIS pros, while GIS pros experienced trepidation about working with high school students. GRACE created a Professional Development model that engaged teachers, GIS pros, and students together. The impact has been to greatly increase collaboration between these groups.
