Mark W. Cave, Air Command Installation Geospatial Information and Services
The ACC ESM Application is an Adobe Flash based ArcGIS Server planning application that allows a user to locate expeditionary sites via a tabular or map query, visualize, and report on select sites based on airfield suitability criteria. Once sites are selected the tool allows the user to generate reports with external links to geospatial, aeronautical, infrastructure, threat and medical intelligence databases. The tool provides the capability to dynamically integrate user generated results with other geospatial applications such as Esri ArcGIS, Falcon View, Google Earth, or any application that can accept a KML, or Esri shapefile. Users can also take the Area of Interest that was returned in their search results and link directly to the same AOI in any application that can accept a URL such as Google Maps and the USAF Air Combat Command Viewer. The ESM application is one of many capabilities that leverages the ACC Enterprise architecture capabilities and is a key component in the AF ESM Concept of Operations to Locate, Collect, Assess, Map and Enable in support of deliberate and crisis action planning.
