Tim Harvey, U.S. National Park Service
The National Park Service demonstrates the real world value of combining decades of facilities management data with their EGIS in an executive decision support application. Cost and impact models were created and exposed as services to support ad hoc scenario modeling and funding decision support within an Adobe Flex based decision support platform. The application provides real time visibility into the current, past and future condition of the portfolio of assets based on the effects of funding scenarios. The project leverages IBM Maximo's MEA, Esri ArcGIS web services, Esri's ArcGIS API for Flex and sample viewer as well as operational data from finance, project management and visitor services to present a holistic, real time view of the agency's asset portfolio. The session will focus on the value proposition of a data driven decision making model and will touch on the technologies and project blueprint to enable other agencies to build on this platform.
