National health reform is a complex task involving a wide variety of interests and concerns. Federal agencies have a tremendous responsibility and burden to contribute accurate data and analysis to the reform effort and find meaningful and thoughtful ways to communicate information to the public. This session will describe the use of GIS in the work of federal health agencies and national health research organizations contributing meaningful information to the participants of health reform. It will also discuss the use of health messaging standards to ensure geographic interoperability of health data.
