In past releases of the SDSFIE, compliance to the standard was never formally defined, and SDSFIE implementations frequently varied widely across the DoD geospatial community. Implementations of the SDSFIE 3.0 release, on the other hand, will be more tightly controlled to ensure the standard remains "a standard." A formal adaptation process has already been defined to control what is removed (i.e., Profiled) or added (i.e., Extended) for individual SDSFIE implementations, and all approved adaptations will be formally recorded in the SDSFIE adaptation registry. Beyond these steps, the Defense Installations Spatial Data Infrastructure Group will be working to extend the adaptation guidelines into a comprehensive set of compliance guidance that will be used to govern the ongoing SDSFIE implementation. This presentation will describe the most current state of SDSFIE Compliance.
