The FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata is the standard du jour for metadata in the United States. However, in July 2009, ANSI/INCITS L1 announced a new U.S. national metadata standard that will replace the FGDC standard. This workshop will provide an overview of the new standard, its likenesses and differences compared to the FGDC standard, and how users will be able to deal with the new standard using ArcGIS 10.
