Cartographic representations allow you to create multiple map representations from GIS features. In this session, you will learn how they can be used to help you publish better maps. This session will introduce feature class representations, which offer a way to manage and modify map symbology by storing it inside the geodatabase. Topics covered include setting up representation rules for features within layers and how the features and rules are stored in the geodatabase. We will also introduce the interactive graphic editing tools that allow the cartographer to override representations for individual features and store alternate geometry used for cartographic display purposes only. Cartographic geoprocessing tools that help you further refine and manage representations will also be discussed.
