In this presentation, users will be introduced to the concept of geoportals and their role in spatial data infrastructures (SDI). We will describe how Esri's ArcGIS Server Geoportal extension supports both standards-based and Web 2.0-style discovery and access to geospatial resources for SDI. The session will also review updates that were included in Geoportal extension 9.3.1 SP1 and look ahead at new capabilities planned for version 10.
