Determining and Filling Geospatial Requirements within the AFCENT GeoReach Program

AFCENT GeoReach essential to the planning efforts of AFCENT Civil Engineers. When new basing requirements are being determined for an Operation or Strategic Plan, one of the main determinations for the Air Force is the ability to take off/land/park at an airfield. Having an inventory of recent imagery to make rapid decisions makes the determinations easier.

To provide this inventory, AFCENT Civil Engineers depend on the GeoReach Program to provide timely and spatially accurate imagery on which to plan. Imagery is updated according to a complex matrix of factors; each factor must be prioritized and considered as part of a global posture and in accordance with tactical requirements, strategic objectives and logistical constraints. Housed within the Civil Engineering directorate (A7) and supports engineering, the goal of the program is to support the warfighter serving throughout the AFCENT AOR.
