Facilities Maintenance Management with Maximo and ArcGIS: An Integrated Approach

The IBM Maximo asset management system is widely used by government and private organizations. These organizations maintain a wide variety of assets, from buildings and structures across thousands of acres of land, through campus-wide features, to equipment items inside a facility. Map-based or location-based functionality has always been a very desirable feature in Maximo and other maintenance management systems. Using ArcGIS Server technology as an integration platform, we have developed a GIS-based front-end to Maximo that gives our users the full power of a GIS application while accessing critical Maximo functionality without requiring any Maximo customizations. We plan on extending our solution in the near future to integrate other related applications making our ArcgGIS Server a true integration platform.
