How DLA Uses GIS to Manage Mapping Products

DLA Aviation, Mapping Customer Operations (MCO) is responsible for the supply management of an estimated 80,000 National Stock Numbers (NSN)in four federal supply classes—Aeronautical, Digital, Hydrographic, and Topographic; and manages several special programs for the Armed Forces and Specified Commands including Fleet Allowance and Flight Information Publications. The DLA Map Catalog is one of these items. Our Inventory Managers use this product on a daily basis to help customers find and place orders for their mission requirements. We also use ESRI's products to help manage our war reserve program, in regards to quantity levels at the various map support offices worldwide.
