Vistronix was responsible for all GIS data development and mapping tasks in EPA Region 1's 2009 office relocation. After successfully converting AutoCAD files into ESRI's ArcGIS format, we realized paper maps would not be the best way to disseminate the information required to coordinate an office move of this magnitude. Walls, offices, and other building information were converted into ESRI format. Several maps were developed in ArcGIS Server and were linked to EPA databases so that personnel could locate printers, conference rooms, etc. 3D models were also developed using 3D Analyst to better visualize the interior and exterior spaces. The application was displayed on the Agency's Intranet website and was heavily used by move/logistical coordinators. In early 2010, the agency's move was successfully completed. The presentation will demonstrate how a web-based tool using ArcGIS Server and 3D Analyst were instrumental in moving the Agency to its new location.
